When I was a tyke a lego set was a jolly crude bundle of construction blocks that were more or less trendier than lincoln logs but not quite as fashionable as Atari. Life would be reasonably ponderous, if things stay the same over the ages and if I had to guess, your beloved then, isn’t your cherished any longer.
Now if your commercial enterprise was taking a shelling, like Lego was for a number of years, you could do one of two things. Wait for the doors to close, or identify your problems, and introduce a really in vogue avant-garde items. The path to revival, can come from strange places. And as unlikely as it seemed at the time, it was a partnership between Lego and Star Wars that proved profitable for both franchises.
From that joining of the minds, and franchises, came shelves upon shelves of Lego toys grounded on the Star Wars brand.
Even if you know nothing of the show, Star Wars is one of the most discernible brands out there. This was a grand move on Legos part as they now relished an astounding lift in sales due to the popularity of Star Wars collectables. Gone are the days, when you just trash your little Lego castle, after you’ve toyed with it for awhile. Now, once it’s done, you put on display for the whole universe to see.
